Detailed Itinerary of Rwanda & Uganda Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, your driver/guide will meet you and transfer you to your accommodation in Kigali (approx. 20-minute drive). Kigali is one of Africa’s most attractive capital cities, known for its lush hillsides, clean streets, and vibrant atmosphere. It’s a symbol of Rwanda’s remarkable transformation. A five-star hotel showcasing Rwanda’s cultural art.

Overnight: Kigali Serena Hotel (Bed & Breakfast)

Day 2: Nyimirambo Women’s Center

After breakfast, visit Nyimirambo Women’s Center, a local NGO empowering woman by providing education and vocational training. This initiative also supports women through community tours, cooking classes, and weaving workshops. Drive for 2.5 hours to Kabale, enjoy lunch, and the rest of the afternoon at leisure.

Day 3: Grace Villa

Morning: Visit Grace Villa in Kabale, an organization supporting girls through education, food, sports, and vocational training. Meet the children and hear their inspiring stories. Spend time at the Grace Villa coffee shop and gift shop, where every purchase directly benefits the children.

Day 4: Ride 4 A Woman & Transfer to Bwindi

Morning: Leisure morning, then transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (approx. 4 hours). Afternoon: Visit Ride 4 A Woman, a local project empowering woman through bicycle repairs, marketable skills training (sewing, weaving, baking), and community-building efforts. Silverback Lodge – Located in the Buhoma sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, offering stunning views and proximity to the park.

Overnight: Silverback Lodge (Meals only, no drinks)

Day 5: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi

After breakfast, report to the ranger station for your gorilla trek briefing. Track gorillas in their natural habitat, an experience lasting from 30 minutes to 7 hours. Once you find the gorillas, spend an hour with them, observing the gentle giants. Return to the lodge for relaxation and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Day 6: Batwa Community & Queen Elizabeth National Park

Morning: Visit the Batwa Community in Buhoma, learning about the Batwa people’s unique cultural heritage and their interaction with the forest. After lunch, travel to Ishasha (approx. 2 hours) in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy an afternoon game drive and sundowners. Tented rooms offering luxury amidst the wild.

Overnight: Ishasha Wilderness Camp (Meals only, no drinks)

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Early Morning: Go for a sunrise game drive to spot lions, buffalo, elephants, and various antelope species. Return to the lodge for lunch and leisure. Embark on another game drive later in the day to explore the park’s diverse landscapes and wildlife.

Overnight: Ishasha Wilderness Camp (Meals only, no drinks)

Day 8: Queen Elizabeth National Park (Kazinga Channel Boat Ride)

After breakfast, transfer to the northern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park (approx. 2 hours). Go on a boat ride on the Kazinga Channel to view hippos, buffalo, and a variety of birds. Marafiki Safari Lodge – Luxury safari tents offering breathtaking views of Lake George and the Rwenzori Mountains.

Day 9: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kyambura Gorge

Enjoy a morning game drive in search of more wildlife. Embark on a chimpanzee tracking walk in Kyambura Gorge, where you can witness chimpanzees in their natural habitatt. Return to the lodge for a relaxing dinner.

Overnight: Marafiki Safari Lodge (Meals only, no drinks)

Day 10: Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Kasese Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Entebbe. A day room will be reserved at Boma Guest House for you to relax before your international flight. Transfer to the airport for your international departure.
