Trip Overview of the 5 Days Mount Elgon Hike in Uganda

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Budadiri then Sasa Camp 2900m

Day 2: From Sasa camp to Mude Camp – 3500m

Day 3:From Mude Camp to Wagagai Peak 4321m then return to Mude

Day 4: From Mude Camp back to Budadiri

Day 5: Departure to Kampala

Detailed Itinerary of the 5 Days Mount Elgon Hiking Safari tour

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Budadiri then Sasa Camp 2900m

On arrival at the Entebbe International Airport , you are picked up by a driver guide who transfers you via Mabira Forest to Budadiri-Mbale Town. Dinner and Overnight at Sasa River Camp.

Day 2: From Sasa camp to Mude Camp – 3500m

Wake up have breakfast at the Camp then embark on a walk through the forest to Mude Cave Camp. The walk takes about 4 to 5 hours 600 m elevation to the summit i.e Wagagai Peak. Enjoy views of this summit in the morning, green vegetation terrain, plains. Dinner and Overnight at Mude Campsite.

Day 3: From Mude Camp to Wagagai Peak 4321m then return to Mude

Wake up have breakfast then embark on a trail through the moorland zone towards the major Peak on Mountain Elgon –Wagagai Peak. Transfer for 8 to 9 hours of elevation-820m and when you reach the Peak enjoy views of Wagagai, take numerous photos. After your adventure, descend by the Sasa Trail to Mude Camp for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 4: From Mude Camp back to Budadiri

Wake up have breakfast then transfer back to Budadiri then to Mbale Town.

Day 5: Departure to Kampala

Wake up have breakfast then transfer to Jinja at the source of River Nile River. After lunch proceed back to Kampala or the Entebbe International Airport to board your flight back home.
