Detailed Itinerary of the 10 Days Mountain Rwenzori Trekking Tour

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Kasese

On arrival at the Entebbe International Airport, you are picked up by our driver guide who transfers you via Masaka with en-route lunch stop in Mbarara Town then to Kasese. Dinner and Overnight. Hotel Margherita.

Day 2: Transfer from Nyakalengija to Nyabitaba Hut

Wake up have breakfast then transfer to Nyakalengija then proceed on your hike to Nyabitaba Hut for 5 to 6 hours. Continue with your ascent along rocks traversing the Mubuku through equatorial vegetation in which you view the blue monkeys, the Rwenzori Turaco etc. Reach Nyabitaba Hut for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to John Matte hut

Wake up, have breakfast then then embark on a trek for 9 hours through muddy areas watching River Mubuku then in the bamboo forest. You reach the steep rocky land which connects to Nyamuleju Hut then continue towards the John Matte Hut situated at 3,414m. While here enjoy views of the snow capped Margherita Peak. Dinner and Overnight at John Matte Hut.

Day 4: From John Matte to hut Bujuku hut

Wake up have breakfast then transfer to Bujuku Hut at 3,414m via River Bujuku sloping to the Bigo bog for 5-6 hours. Proceed with your journey near Lake Bujuku then after a while, you reach Bujuku Hut. While here, view Mount Speke, Mount Stanley and Mount Baker Peaks. Dinner and Overnight at Bujuku Hut.

Day 5: From Bujuku hut Elena Hut

Wake up have breakfast then transfer through groundsel vegetation along a 4 kilometre trail ascending to 4,372m at Scot Elliot Pass situated between Mount Stanley and Baker. You reach Elena Hut at 4,540 m where you have Dinner and Overnight.

Day 6: Leave Elena Hut for Kitandara Hut

Wake up have breakfast then embark on a 3 hours hike and climb till the last section of ice and rock along Mount Stanley leading you to Margherita Peak at 5,109m. After your adventure at the top, descend via the muddy grounds of lower and upper Kitandara Lake to Kitandara Hut where you have Dinner and Overnight.

Day 7: Transfer to Guy Yeoman Hut

Wake up have breakfast then transfer on a 6 hours hike through the fresh field Pass at 4,282 m as you descend through the boggy and rocky regions. En-route enjoy views of the Glacial Mount Baker, Savoy and Stanley. Proceed with your hike through mud then later reach the Kabamba, Akendahi, and Bujongolo rock shelters. Continue through the Kabamba Valley towards Guy Yeoman Hut at 3,261m where you view stunning terrain, rivers, vegetation and Mountains. Dinner and Overnight here.

Day 8: Depart from Guy Yeoman Hut to Nyakalengija

Wake up have breakfast then transfer to Nyakalengija a walk that offers you stunning views of flowers, plants, bamboo forests, Kinchuchu and Mubuku Rivers as well as the Kabamba wafer falls. You arrive at Nyabitaba Hut after 4 hours and while here, visit the Mahoma Lake, then later descend to the Headquarters of the park in 2 to 3 hours. Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mweya Safari lodge.

Day 9: Game Drive and Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up early have breakfast then transfer to the Park to enjoy a Game Drive along the various tracks in the Park watching numerous wildlife animals wandering around their natural habitat. Dinner and Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge.

Day 10: Departure to Kampala/Entebbe

Wake up have breakfast then with your luggage, embark on a departure to Kampala or the Entebbe International Airport to bard your flight back home.
