Detailed Itinerary for 8 Days Rwanda Congo Safari From Kigali

Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe forest National Park

Early morning you will be welcomed by the tour guide to transfer to Nyungwe forest national Park  for a period of 6-7 hours. En-route visit the various genocide memorials then later proceed to check-in your lodge fo Dinner and Overnight. Gisakura Guest House, Nyungwe hill top lodge.

Day 2: chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Bukavu

Wake up early have breakfast then later transfer for briefing on the Dos and Don’ts around the Chimpanzees then later in groups of 8 with a park ranger, enter the forest to track the Chimpanzees for 2-4 hours depending on their movemnet of the Chimpanzees in the forest and when you meet them, only an hour is allowed in their presence taking photos to keep for memories. After Chimpanzee Tracking, proceed to Bukavu DR Congo. Dinner and Overnight.

Day 3 : Gorilla trekking in Kahuzi Biega National park

Wake up have breakfast then transfer for brieifng on the code of conduct around the Eastern Lowland Gorillas then later in groups of 8 with a park ranger, enter the forest to track the Eastern Lowland Gorillas for 3- 5 hours and when you meet them, only an hour is allowed in their presence taking photos to keep for memories. After Gorilla Trekking, return to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to goma

Wake up have breakfast then with your luggage embark on a transfer to Goma Town then Virunga National Park where you check-in your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mikeno lodge.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Virunga National Park

Wake up have breakfast then transfer for briefing on the code of conduct around the Mountain Gorillas then later in groups of 8 with a park ranger, enter the forest to track the Mountain Gorillas for 3- 5 hours and when you meet them, only an hour is allowed in their presence taking photos to keep for memories. After Gorilla Trekking, return to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mikeno Lodge.

Day 6: Transfer to Gisenyi

Wake up have breakfast then with your luggage embark on a transfer to Gisenyi Rwanda. You transfer for some hours traversing the border to Lake Kivu where you relax at the Beach. Dinner and Overnight. Lake kivu water front beach hotel, Lake kivu Serena.

Day 7: Boat cruise on Lake Kivu

Wake up have breakfast then in the morning hours, take boat cruise to visit the local villages and fishing villages on lake kivu and the boat cruise may last for 3 hours and optional. After your boat cruise go back to your lodge for lunch then later proceed to Volcanoes National Park. In the evening later transfer to visit the Twin Lakes. Mountain gorilla view lodge.

Day 8: Gorilla trekking & Transfer to Kigali

Wake up very early in the morning then transfer for briefing on the code of conduct around the Gorillas then later in groups of 8 with a park ranger, enter the forest to track the Gorillas for 3-5 hours and when you meet them only an hour is allowed in their presence taking various photos for memories. After Gorilla Trekking embark on a departure to Kigali International Airport to board your flight back home.
